Snippets of Summer – Part I

Labor day is just around the corner, and with it are coming some major life changes.

Dave and I are moving out of Philly to Princeton, where he is going to start a PhD program in Economics. I am changing my work schedule from full-time to part-time, so that I have the ability to pursue photography as well. In a little over a week, Dave turns 25, which kind of blows my mind.

Throwback photo, 2006: Dave’s birthday 6 years ago – the first week of college freshman year – and the week we met!

All of these changes are bittersweet, but mostly on the sweet side. We are leaving the city that has been our home for over half a decade, but we aren’t going very far. Now we’ll be between two amazing cities, with a grassy yard for Dillon to run around on. (No more elevators for her!)

A lot has been going on in the last few months, and I haven’t had many opportunities to post updates.

So, without further ado, here is a “summer summary”:

Cape Cod

In July, my mom and I attended a week-long continuing education conference at the Cape. The family came along, and we spent afternoons on the beach or whale watching (or whale watching ON the beach – see below. How crazy is that?)

We also saw this incredible storm roll in as we were walking along the shore:

Silver Bay

In early August, we met up with Dave’s family for a few days in Lake George. I didn’t spent too much time taking photos, except when it came to baby Colin.

Look at that face!

And here are some of little Johanah…

…who is about to become a big sister!

[More summer photos coming soon!]
